BandCraft ("we", "the site") is a free, browser-based guitar game and tuner at bandcraft.app. This page explains what data is processed when you use the site. We aim to collect as little as possible.
The app runs almost entirely in your browser. We do not run user accounts, we do not sell your data, and we do not store the files you load or any audio from your microphone. The main data processing on the site comes from third-party advertising (Google AdSense), described below.
The tuner and the game can listen to your guitar through your microphone or audio interface, with your permission. This audio is processed locally, in your browser, in real time, only to detect pitch. It is never recorded, saved, or transmitted to us or anyone else. If you deny microphone access, those features simply don't work.
When you load a Guitar Pro file (.gp3/.gp4/.gp5/.gpx/.gp), it is sent to our server only to be parsed in memory into playable notes, and the result is returned to your browser. The uploaded file is not stored: the temporary copy is deleted immediately after parsing. Nothing you upload is kept, shared, or made public.
This site is free thanks to advertising. We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we present a consent message (via Google's certified consent management) before personalized ads are shown, as required by law.
To run the app your browser loads resources from third-party CDNs, which necessarily receive your IP address and basic request data:
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first, cookieless analytics service. It reports aggregated, anonymous metrics (such as page views, country and referrers) without using cookies, without fingerprinting your device, and without tracking you across sites or building any profile. No personal data is collected for analytics. Beyond this — and what the advertising provider above requires to serve and measure ads — we run no other tracking.
BandCraft is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
You can decline microphone access, block or clear cookies in your browser, and opt out of personalized ads via the links above. Blocking cookies will not stop the game or tuner from working.
